What does it eat?

Snails and slugs are the natural diet, so you need a reliable supply. Many also take insects and some prepared food.

Can I handle it?

Yes, they are generally calm and slow, though the bite is strong if you really provoke one.

How big does it get?

Around 40 to 45 centimetres with the tail, more slender than a blue-tongued skink.

Is it difficult?

Moderate. The food supply and its dislike of hot dry air are the two real hurdles here.
