Common questions

Is this one dangerous?

Yes, and we say so plainly. It is Africa's largest snake, it grows very big and very strong, and it has a reputation for being defensive. This is an expert-only animal.

How big will it actually get?

Commonly four metres or more with enormous girth. You will need a purpose-built enclosure and a plan for handling it safely for twenty years.

Can I handle it alone?

No. Once it is past a couple of metres, two competent adults minimum, every single time, with no exceptions.

What does it cost to feed?

Adults eat large rodents and up, which realistically means over a thousand baht a month, plus the electricity for a very large enclosure.
